Brandi Glanville finally reveals what caused facial parasite that aged her ‘20 years overnight’

Brandi Glanville revealed her breast implants are to blame for her facial disfiguration.

The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star told TMZ on Tuesday that her breast implants from 20 years ago had ruptured, leaking silicone into her lymph nodes, clogging them and ultimately causing the facial infection.

“I definitely had a parasite, I was shocked because I’ve had [my implants] for 20 years — almost,” she told the outlet.

“They looked fine, they felt fine, the mammogram said they were fine, it wasn’t until I had a sonogram. I was just feeling like you should check that too, why not? I’ve checked everything else,” she continued before adding that she has gone to 21 doctors and “spent so much money” to get to the root of her health issues.

“There is such a thing as breast implant illness and you really should change your implants every 10 years — I just didn’t do it. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it! I learned a really, really hard lesson,” she reflected.

Per the Cleveland Clinic, breast implant illness refers to the wide range of symptoms that develop after getting breast implants. These symptoms could develop soon after or years later.

“It sucks to age like 20 years overnight,” she pointed out, noting she’s been undergoing laser treatments for her face and recently had her breast implants changed.

Although she did not want to discourage women from getting breast implants, she asked them to get sonograms consistently.

Glanville, 53, has been battling facial disfigurement for the last two years, which first started with swelling in July 2024.

Although she initially believed stress was to blame, doctors told her they thought she had a facial parasite six months later.

Aside from sagging and swelling on one side of her face, the model also lost several teeth, which she’s still working to replace.

By December 2025, Glanville had received a diagnosis — though she didn’t disclose it until now.

“I have a long road ahead of me to get fully better, but I finally have an answer, so I’m just thrilled,” she said at the time, noting that she was deliberately staying quiet about the root of her ailment.

“It’s been hell. I’ve turned into an introvert. Leaving my house, I get the worst anxiety because I’ve been in my house for two years,” she said of her long health journey.
