Tragedy continues to unfold in Texas following the catastrophic floods that struck earlier this week. Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick revealed in a press conference that 23 young girls remain missing out of the 750 attendees at Camp Mystic, a Christian girls-only summer camp located near the swollen Guadalupe River.
Families of the missing children have been speaking to local news outlets, holding onto hope as search efforts intensify. The flooding, which caused the Guadalupe River to surge to its second-highest recorded level, has devastated the region.
So far, at least 24 lives have been lost in Kerr County and one in Kendall County due to the deadly floods that began on July 4, according to CNN.
As the community rallies together, the search for these girls continues amid heartbreak and uncertainty.
