FBI Releases Epstein Cell Footage — But a Missing Minute Sparks New Conspiracies
The FBI has released surveillance footage it claims confirms that Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide, pushing back against persistent rumors and online theories that he was murdered to protect powerful figures. The Department of Justice echoed that stance, stating there is “no evidence” to support claims Epstein was killed or that he kept a so-called “client list” for blackmail.
According to the video, Epstein was escorted to his cell at approximately 10:40 p.m. on August 9, 2019. He was later discovered unresponsive around 6:30 a.m. the following morning.
One Minute Missing — Theories Reignite
But it didn’t take long for internet sleuths to notice something odd: a one-minute gap in the footage. That missing moment quickly became the centerpiece of renewed conspiracy theories across social media, with critics questioning whether crucial evidence had been edited out or hidden.
Pam Bondi Weighs In on the “Missing Minute”
Pam Bondi, former Florida attorney general and member of Donald Trump’s cabinet, addressed the controversy during a recent meeting. She said:
“The video itself wasn’t conclusive, but previous evidence supported that Epstein died by suicide.
The Bureau of Prisons told us their system resets every night — meaning the same one-minute segment is missing from every day’s footage.
We’re working to release that footage to prove there’s nothing being hidden.”
Trump: “Are People Still Talking About This Creep?”
In a July 8 interview, former President Donald Trump voiced his frustration over the continued media focus on Epstein:
“Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein? This guy has been talked about for years… We have Texas, we have this, we have all kinds of things. Are people still talking about this creep? That is unbelievable.”
Despite official statements and explanations, the missing minute continues to feed public doubt — ensuring that, for many, the Epstein case is far from closed.
