Tragedy in Santa Martha: Missing Girl Found Dead Near Metro Station, Community Demands Justice

What began as a simple trip to the store ended in tragedy. Perla Alison, a young girl from the Santa Martha Acatitla neighborhood, vanished after asking her family for permission to buy candy. She never returned home.

Her disappearance triggered a nationwide Amber Alert and mobilized both law enforcement and concerned citizens in a desperate search. Days later, the heartbreaking discovery came—a lifeless body found in a vacant lot near the Constitución de 1917 metro station. A neighbor, disturbed by a foul odor coming from an abandoned building, alerted authorities.

Officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) secured the scene, while forensic teams from the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office confirmed the worst: it was Perla Alison. Her body showed signs of violence, and prosecutors have opened a femicide investigation. Early evidence suggests the child may have been abused prior to her death, but an autopsy will determine the exact cause.

The case has shaken the nation. On social media, an outpouring of grief has turned to fury. Feminist groups and civil rights organizations are calling for swift justice—and for the perpetrator to be held fully accountable.
