Throughout a career that spanned more than two decades, Kyle set records in national series wins, won championships at NASCAR’s highest level and fostered the next generation of drivers as an owner in the Truck Series. It continued, “Our thoughts are with Samantha, Brexton and Lennix, Kyle and Samantha’s parents, Kurt and all of Kyle’s family, Richard and Judy Childress, everyone at Richard Childress Racing, his teammates, friends and fans. NASCAR lost a giant of the sport today, far too soon,” the family added.

Born on May 2, 1985, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Kyle Busch found his passion for racing at a young age. He first drove around his family’s property in a go-kart before spending hours and hours in the garage with his older brother, Kurt Busch, learning how it’s done from their father.

At the age of only 13 years old, Kyle had proven himself to be a driver to count on. Driving on the Legends car racing scene, he won two championships early in his career.

Kyle Busch dedicated over two decades to establishing one of the most illustrious careers in motorsports. His rapid progression followed his recognition as NASCAR Busch Series Rookie of the Year in 2004, an early indication of his future prominence.

Not long after, Busch made the jump to the NASCAR Cup Series, where he cemented his place among racing’s elite. Driving the iconic No. 18 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, Busch captured two Cup Series championships — first in 2015 and again in 2019 — adding to a legacy that has made him one of NASCAR’s most recognizable stars.

95 combined victories with his brother

Kyle Busch and his brother Kurt went on to make history together, and by 2023, they had officially surpassed the legendary Allison family to become NASCAR’s most winning brothers ever, with an incredible 95 combined victories in the NASCAR Cup Series.

As recently as last weekend, Busch reaffirmed his legendary status to NASCAR fans worldwide. Competing at Dover International Speedway, he led 147 of 200 laps, ultimately achieving his fifth Truck Series victory. Following the conclusion of the race, Busch commemorated the occasion with his signature deep bow—a gesture warmly recognized by many fans.

Kyle Busch is survived by his wife, Samantha Busch, and their children, Brexton and Lennix.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this very difficult time. May he rest in peace.
