Millions of protesters took to the streets nationwide on Saturday, joining thousands of events across the US to voice their opposition to Donald Trump’s administration in a coordinated movement called “No Kings.”
Led by a coalition of activist groups, the demonstrations remained largely peaceful despite the tense backdrop: the same day, Minnesota was rocked by a tragic act of political violence in which lawmakers were shot and one lost their life. This followed just a week after federal troops were deployed to Los Angeles to suppress earlier protests.
