Former CIA Director Ratcliffe Signals Possible Charges for Clinton, Obama Officials Over Russia Collusion Allegations
John Ratcliffe, former CIA Director and Intelligence Chief, has stirred fresh controversy by suggesting that several prominent Obama-era officials—including Hillary Clinton—could still face legal consequences for their alleged roles in promoting the discredited Russia collusion narrative against Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
In a recent Fox News interview with Maria Bartiromo, Ratcliffe accused the Clinton campaign of orchestrating a politically motivated smear to damage Trump’s election chances. He also implicated former President Barack Obama, FBI Director James Comey, and CIA Director John Brennan, hinting that some may have lied under oath during the investigation.
“This was a Hillary Clinton campaign scheme,” Ratcliffe stated bluntly. “She pushed false claims to undermine Trump’s legitimacy during the 2016 race.”
Legal Fallout on the Horizon?
Pressed on whether Clinton, Brennan, or Comey could still face indictments, Ratcliffe confirmed he has submitted criminal referrals to the Department of Justice. He also revealed that Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has made similar calls for justice.
“We will keep providing intelligence that empowers the DOJ to bring fair and just charges against those responsible for this hoax,” Ratcliffe said.
Tulsi Gabbard Points to Obama’s Role
Adding fuel to the fire, Gabbard recently described the Russia collusion narrative as a “treasonous conspiracy” masterminded by the Obama administration’s highest levels. She has submitted formal documentation urging the DOJ to reopen investigations.
These claims follow the declassification of new intelligence documents tied to the Russia probe and the notorious Steele Dossier—a key piece of evidence that has since been widely discredited.
Leaked Emails Expose Internal Doubts on Steele Dossier
Among the newly released files is a 2019 email exchange from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), revealing internal concerns about the dossier’s credibility. Some officials noted that the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) on Russian election interference omitted references to the dossier, possibly to shield analysts from its questionable content.
One redacted official remarked, “If the dossier material was used and I was excluded despite having clearance, that’s a serious issue.”
What Lies Ahead?
While no new indictments have been announced, Ratcliffe’s statements and the fresh documents could intensify pressure for accountability regarding the 2016 probe. Several lawmakers and legal experts are urging the DOJ to carefully examine these referrals and determine if any wrongdoing occurred in intelligence gathering and reporting.
As of now, Hillary Clinton, James Comey, and John Brennan have not publicly commented on these recent developments.
