Slammed by trolls for kissing his young son on the lips – he has a strong response for them

Tom, a devoted father from northern England, never misses a chance to show his love for his young son, Roman. But when their affectionate moments — including kisses on the lips — went viral on social media, not everyone was pleased.

Facing harsh criticism and judgment for kissing his five-year-old son, Tom stands firm against the trolls who claim he’s confusing his child.

With a mix of clear logic and sharp humor, Tom fights back — and with Roman’s own bold words, “You are all crazy!” — they send a powerful message to the online critics.

The bond between a parent and child is a beautiful, lasting connection that shapes a child’s values, character, and sense of self. Every parent has their own unique way of raising their children—methods influenced by culture, circumstances, health, and personal beliefs.

Tom, a devoted father from Yorkshire, England, is unapologetically himself when it comes to parenting. He refuses to let negative comments and online trolls dictate how he loves and cares for his two young sons.

Regularly sharing glimpses of his life on TikTok, Tom has captured the hearts of many—whether it’s with his striking icy blue eyes, charming Yorkshire accent, impressive tattoos, or simply his heartfelt devotion to his sons: five-year-old Roman and baby Raphael Reign, born in May 2023.

Many of Tom’s recent TikTok videos show him responding to accusations that he’s confusing young Roman or putting him at risk from strangers and illness.

But Tom isn’t backing down.

On June 27, the proud Yorkshire dad fired back at a comment that read, “Just gorgeous both, but don’t kiss him on the lips.”

In his response, Tom made it clear he will keep showering his five-year-old son with love — for as long as Roman allows it. He said,
“I find it worrying that it bothers you. I will kiss my son, my five-year-old child, on the lips for as long as I deem necessary and as long as he lets me, right? Because I love him to bits, he’s my best mate, and one day he probably won’t want me to — maybe won’t want much to do with me at all. So, for now, I’ll carry on as I am.”

Support flooded in from fans, with one sharing, “Love kissing my kids and now my granddaughter — those who think it’s wrong are the worry xx.” Another, who lost her father, added, “Absolutely ridiculous! I always kissed my dad on the lips and lost him two years ago. I wish I could cuddle and kiss him again.”

Tom warmly replied, “He is the most loving little boy, and it’s because we raise him with love. Thank you for these comments.”

But when one user made a shocking claim —
“Shouldn’t kiss him BECAUSE of the bacteria in your mouth. Did you know you can make your child more susceptible to cavities if you have them & kiss them?” —
Tom was quick to respond with a video of his own.

In a witty TikTok post that has nearly 123,000 likes, Tom addressed the ridiculous claim that kissing his five-year-old son would cause cavities. He quipped,
“Wow. So I kiss my 5-year-old son on the lips, and he’ll get cavities. He’ll get cavities from his daddy kissing him.”

Turning to Roman, he asked for his opinion. With a giggle, Roman replied, “Don’t be silly!” — sealing the rebuttal with a sweet kiss on his dad’s lips.

Fans quickly weighed in on the baseless claim. One wrote, “OMG… who educated that person? You kiss away, you two!” Another added, “That is soooo ridiculous… and I work as a dentist. Carry on being the loving dad you are… your son is so cute!”

In early July, Tom posted a now-viral video showing him with Roman on his lap in the car. With almost 579,000 likes, Tom reassured his followers,
“Don’t worry. Absolutely nothing’s going to change.”

He then turned to his son and asked, “Roman, what do you think of people who say you shouldn’t kiss me on the lips?”

Roman responded emphatically, “You are all crazy. That’s my daddy!” The video ends with the heartwarming sight of father and son sharing a tender kiss.

Fans quickly rallied behind Tom, defending both his post and his parenting style. One supporter wrote,
“Some people are just sick. He’s adorable and will tell you himself when he’s older if he doesn’t like it.”

Another shared,
“In my culture, we kiss on the cheeks, but I really love seeing that strong father-son bond.”

A thoughtful user directly challenged the trolls, asking,
“Do you have a problem with him kissing his son on the lips because he’s a man? Because if it were his mom, I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t say a word.”

Responding to the comment and thanking the woman for raising such an important point, Tom said,
“I’ve genuinely been curious about this myself. I honestly don’t think anyone would say anything if it was a mum kissing her little boy… but for some reason, when it’s a dad, a bloke kissing his little boy, there’s always some comment — and it’s always from this weird minority. I’m really glad it’s a woman pointing this out too, so I appreciate that. …And I’m not changing a thing.”

In another clip, Tom’s frustration is clear as he responds to a comment warning that these loving kisses could make his son vulnerable to strangers with bad intentions.

“Don’t kiss your children on the lips, fact. Not all humans have the right intentions, do you see what I’m saying? Don’t make it acceptable!” the commenter wrote.

Tom fired back with a sharp wit, saying,
“So the logic is, if I kiss my five-year-old, he’ll think it’s okay to kiss strangers, strange adults… obviously!”

Holding back laughter, he added,
“Let’s run with that logic—he can’t ride in my car anymore because he might think it’s normal to get into a stranger’s car. He can’t live in my house either… because he might just walk into a stranger’s house and think that’s normal.”

Then, the devoted dad offered a smarter alternative:
“Or, and hear me out here, we could teach him that he’s got a mummy and a daddy, and kissing them is normal — but kissing dodgy Barry down the road? That’s a bit weird.”

The overwhelming majority of Tom’s online community stands firmly behind him, celebrating the love he openly shares with his son. It’s heartening to see Tom refuse to back down against trolls who have no right to dictate how he parents.

What are your thoughts on dads kissing their children on the lips? Do you feel it’s equally acceptable for moms to do the same?
