California MAGA Mom Taken by ICE — Husband Keeps Trump Flag Flying High
Trump-Loving Family Stunned as ICE Detains Longtime Resident
In a stunning scene that has sparked both outrage and confusion, Arpineh Masihi — an Iranian-born, pro-Trump mother — was detained by ICE agents at her Diamond Bar, California home on June 30. Despite fleeing Iran as a toddler and living in the U.S. for over four decades, Masihi was taken into custody while her home remained boldly decorated with a “Keep America Great” Trump flag.
“She kissed our kids goodbye — and they took her,” said her husband, Arthu Sahakyan, in an emotional interview with Fox 11. “We’ve always supported Trump. Our kids wore MAGA hats. We never thought this could happen to us.”
Masihi’s arrest comes years after she lost her green card following a theft conviction. Since then, she’s been working to regain her legal status, faithfully attending routine immigration check-ins — until now.
Despite the heartbreak, Sahakyan has refused to take down the Trump flag that hangs outside their home, calling it a symbol of their unwavering beliefs.
U.S.-Iran Tensions Lead to Wave of Arrests — MAGA Family Caught in the Middle
Trump-Loving Wife Detained After U.S. Airstrikes — Husband Refuses to Lower the Flag
The political aftershocks of the U.S. bombing three Iranian nuclear sites on June 21 have reached American soil. Just days after the strikes, Arpineh Masihi — a devoted Trump supporter and longtime California resident — was swept up in a mass detention of over 130 Iranian nationals, according to federal officials.
Her husband, Arthu Sahakyan, watched helplessly as ICE agents led her away from their Diamond Bar home, still adorned with a bold “Keep America Great” flag. “She kissed our children goodbye,” he recalled. “And they took her.”
A Family Torn, But Loyal to the Cause
Though devastated, Sahakyan remains resolute in his support of Trump and the nation’s security policies. “I support vetting Iranian nationals because of sleeper cells,” he said. “It could solve a lot of problems… even though I miss her dearly.”
Masihi, who came to the U.S. as a toddler and lost her green card following a theft conviction 15 years ago, had been working to regain legal status through routine check-ins. Now, she’s being transferred to another facility — her future in limbo.
“I’m on the list to be going to a different facility,” she said through tears in a phone interview with Fox 11. “This is the only country I know.”
“The Flag Stays”
Despite friends urging him to take it down, Sahakyan refuses to lower the Trump flag fluttering outside their home. “Even though my friends say, ‘Take the flag down, you’re going through a lot,’ I’m like, ‘No — the flag stands,’” he said.
Even as his wife’s fate hangs in the balance, Sahakyan clings to his convictions. “He’s not doing anything bad,” he said of Trump. “He wants the best for the country. I’m just trying to make the best of it.”
