A father’s moment of exhaustion ended with his baby dead. In Anápolis, a two-month-old infant fell from his father’s arms after the parent said he drifted to sleep, leaving emergency responders unable to save him. Now, as police gather testimony from family members and potential witnesses, investigators must establish what happened inside the home before that devastating early-morning fal…

The death occurred early Monday in Jardim das Américas 2nd Stage, a neighborhood in Anápolis, about 55 kilometers from Goiânia. According to the account the father gave authorities, he had been cradling his two-month-old son when he fell asleep and the child slipped from his arms. A team from the Mobile Emergency Care Service, known as SAMU, attended the scene but could only confirm that the infant had died.

The Forensic Medical Institute notified the Military Police, and the Civil Police are investigating the circumstances. Family members and witnesses are being interviewed to help establish the sequence of events and whether any other factors contributed to the death. Police chief Kênia Segantini has not publicly discussed the investigation’s specifics. For now, the father’s account remains part of an inquiry that has not announced its conclusions—a crucial distinction in a case involving the loss of a child just two months old.
