What should have been a joyous beginning to a new life together ended in chilling death and deception amid the tranquil hills of Shillong, India. On May 20, businessman Raja Raghuvanshi arrived with his new bride, Sonam Raghuvanshi, ready to start their honeymoon. But just days later, Raja’s decomposed body was discovered in a remote canyon—stripped of his wedding ring, identification, and, tragically, his life.
At first, suspicion fell on Raj Kushwaha, rumored to be Sonam’s lover. However, the investigation soon uncovered a far darker truth: Sonam was the cunning mastermind behind the murder. She had lured Raja with promises of love while secretly orchestrating his death. Authorities revealed that she recruited three men—Vishal Singh, Anand Kurmi, and Akash Rajput—offering them financial incentives to carry out the killing.
Sonam tracked Raja’s movements closely, guiding the killers to ambush him in the gorge between May 23 and 24. After the murder, Raja returned to Indore, hopeful to reunite with Sonam—only to be betrayed once again. It emerged that she was involved with yet another man and had plans to eliminate Raja herself.
Phone records ultimately led to Sonam’s arrest on June 8, where she confessed to her chilling role in this deadly conspiracy.
