The 81-year-old star reportedly suffered serious brain damage after collapsing at his home in Rockfield, Monmouthshire. According to his wife, Cici Edmunds, the terrifying incident nearly turned fatal when Dave briefly “died in my arms” before being resuscitated by emergency responders.
In an emotional Facebook post on Tuesday, Cici shared heartbreaking details of the moment, recalling how she desperately tried to clear fluid from his airways in a frantic attempt to keep him alive until help arrived.
Dave remains in critical condition as fans around the world hold out hope for his recovery.

“I refused to give up,” Cici wrote. She described how a nurse performed intensive CPR but ultimately declared Dave dead. Moments later, he was revived—what Cici calls a “miracle.” Although intubated and stabilized, his condition remains grave.
Cici added that the experience has left her in a state of shock: “I believe I have PTSD from the horrific experience.”
“My brilliant, talented, funny, and special Dave could really use as many people’s prayers and good wishes,” she pleaded. “Thank you all for your support—it means the world to me. Dave will have a very long journey ahead of him if he survives. We both will.”
In closing, she wrote: “Knowing that there are kind-hearted people such as you all makes this tremendously difficult journey a little easier. Bless you all. Sending you all much love and light, always.”
