Pelosi Claims Democrats Will Retake House, Predicts Hakeem Jeffries as Speaker in 2026 [WATCH]

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi expressed strong optimism about the Democratic Party’s chances to retake the House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections during Thursday’s Voters of Tomorrow summit, as reported by Fox News.

Addressing an energized crowd of Gen Z activists, Pelosi confidently declared, “We have no doubt that we will win the election with the House of Representatives,” punctuating her statement with a resounding “No doubt” to enthusiastic applause.

Drawing on her extensive experience leading House Democrats for over two decades, Pelosi emphasized the importance of early preparation and strategic groundwork. She reflected on the party’s major midterm victories in 2006 and 2018, stressing that the key to success lies in building momentum well ahead of Election Day.

“It’s crucial to be strong in the year in advance, because that’s when the troops line up,” Pelosi said. “We have our messaging, our mobilization, and the funding—but ultimately, candidates are what matter most.”

Pelosi also spotlighted House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., forecasting his rise to Speaker should Democrats regain control. Her endorsement signals a commitment to leadership continuity as the party gears up for 2026.

In addition to organizational efforts, Pelosi pointed to lowering President Donald Trump’s approval ratings as a top Democratic priority. Describing Trump’s polling as “terrible,” she confidently predicted, “By October — certainly by November, but by October — with many working hard, we will have taken what’s his name’s numbers down,” deliberately avoiding Trump’s name.

Recent Fox News polls show Trump’s approval rating at 46%, with 54% disapproving — a slight improvement over his standing during the 2016 campaign season.

The Voters of Tomorrow summit featured a lineup of influential Democrats, including former Vice President Kamala Harris, Rep. Ro Khanna of California, Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland, and activist David Hogg, with Harris and Raskin delivering virtual remarks.

Though Pelosi stepped down from her leadership role after the 2022 midterms, she remains deeply engaged in party affairs, continuing to champion Democratic causes and events.
