Jimmy Kimmel Drops Hint of Possible Late-Night Exit Ahead of His Fourth Oscars Hosting
As Jimmy Kimmel gears up to take the Oscars stage for the fourth time, he’s quietly signaling that his iconic run on Jimmy Kimmel Live! might be winding down.
“This Could Be My Last Contract”
In a candid chat with the Los Angeles Times, the 56-year-old late-night staple revealed he’s seriously contemplating stepping away once his current contract expires.
“I think this is my final contract,” Kimmel confessed. “I hate to say it because every time I do, people just laugh at me — but this time, it feels different.”
The show’s 21st anniversary has sparked a wave of reflection for Kimmel, who’s been a late-night fixture for over two decades.
Two Years Left — And Then?
With just over two years remaining on his deal, Kimmel says that’s already more than enough.
“That seems pretty good,” he said. “That feels like a good place to stop.”
Looking beyond the spotlight, Kimmel admits he’s unsure what the future holds. He’s toyed with ideas ranging from cooking to drawing and even sculpture, but nothing is set in stone yet.
