Elon Musk Slams Trump Over ‘Epstein Hoax’ Claim as Fallout Intensifies
Trump’s Controversial Take on Epstein Files Sparks Backlash
President Donald Trump’s recent dismissal of the Jeffrey Epstein investigation as a “hoax” has ignited fierce backlash—even from longtime supporters. Labeling the Epstein controversy a Democrat-fabricated scam, Trump called his own followers “weaklings” for buying into what he branded “bullshit.” He also defended his administration’s refusal to release the much-anticipated Epstein client list.
Broken Promises and Growing Fury
During his campaign, Trump vowed to expose the names tied to Epstein—a promise that won him widespread support. But with those files still sealed tight, frustration is boiling over among his base, with accusations flying that Trump is protecting the powerful elites linked to Epstein’s crimes.
On Truth Social, Trump doubled down: “These Scams and Hoaxes are all the Democrats are good at… Their new SCAM is what we will forever call the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax, and my PAST supporters have bought into this ‘bullshit,’ hook, line, and sinker.”
He added, “I have had more success in 6 months than perhaps any President… but all they want to talk about is the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax… I don’t want their support anymore!”
At a White House press event, Trump went further, blaming former Presidents Obama and Biden, plus ex-FBI Director Comey, for concocting the Epstein files.
Supporters Voice Anger and Betrayal
Many of Trump’s former allies feel betrayed by his reversal. Social media is awash with comments like, “You’re losing your most loyal followers,” and “Why are you protecting pedophiles?” This sudden U-turn has alienated a chunk of the very base that propelled Trump to power.
Elon Musk Strikes Back — Hard
Once friendly with Trump, Elon Musk took to X (formerly Twitter) to challenge the “hoax” narrative. Pointing out that Epstein’s close aide Ghislaine Maxwell remains behind bars for sex trafficking, Musk dismantled the idea that the case is fabricated.
He tweeted, “Wow, amazing that Epstein ‘killed himself’ and Ghislaine is in federal prison for a hoax.” Musk also blasted the lack of prosecutions, adding, “Not a single Epstein client has been prosecuted. Not even one.”
Within just over an hour, Musk fired off 13 tweets condemning Trump’s stance and calling out the elite forces trying to keep the Epstein client list under wraps. “So many powerful people want that list suppressed,” he wrote.
A Friendship Fractured
The fallout between Musk and Trump deepened after Musk hinted in June that Trump himself may appear in the Epstein files — possibly explaining the secrecy. Musk later deleted the tweet and apologized, but the rift remains.
