The FBI has quietly launched a far-reaching investigation into a decade’s worth of politically charged actions—ranging from the Trump-Russia collusion narrative to Special Counsel Jack Smith’s prosecutions—linked to Democratic operatives and elements within the intelligence community, according to a bombshell report published Monday.
The investigation, first reported by Just the News, could culminate in the appointment of a special prosecutor to assess whether these events amount to a coordinated campaign to sway three consecutive U.S. elections against Donald Trump.
According to unnamed administration sources, the so-called “grand conspiracy” probe began several weeks ago under new FBI Director Kash Patel. Its momentum may accelerate if President Trump chooses to declassify two key sets of classified evidence that allegedly trace the origins of the operation back to the summer of 2016.
The first set of documents, originally compiled as part of an inspector general investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server, reportedly includes a classified annex obtained by Sen. Chuck Grassley. This annex is said to show that the FBI overlooked credible misconduct warnings.
The second cache, referenced in Special Counsel John Durham’s final report and labeled “Clinton plan intelligence,” was also tucked away in a classified annex—shielded from both the public and most lawmakers, according to Just the News.
Adding fuel to the fire, CIA Director John Ratcliffe recently slammed the intelligence community for its mishandling of Russian election interference assessments in 2016. In a scathing post, Ratcliffe accused former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey of prioritizing partisan narratives over solid analysis—particularly by endorsing the discredited Steele dossier.
“An atypical & corrupt process under the politically charged environments of former Dir. Brennan & former FBI Dir. Comey,” Ratcliffe wrote on social media, describing the episode as a deliberate smear effort against Trump.
If Trump declassifies both the Grassley and Durham annexes, prosecutors could potentially present them to a grand jury as evidence of a pattern: top officials allegedly suppressing damaging information about Democrats while aggressively targeting Trump on dubious grounds.
Separately, the Trump administration is weighing the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate reports—also first revealed by Just the News—that the FBI had received human-source intelligence and corroborating data suggesting China attempted to influence the 2020 election through counterfeit mail-in ballots in favor of Joe Biden.
