Tulsi Gabbard Claims ‘Russiagate’ Whistleblowers Are Stepping Forward: “There Must Be Indictments”

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard revealed Sunday that whistleblowers from inside the U.S. intelligence community are now stepping forward, following the release of internal documents she claims expose a calculated effort to sabotage Donald Trump after his 2016 election victory.

Appearing on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo, Gabbard described what she called a “coup attempt” orchestrated by senior figures within the Obama administration—an effort allegedly aimed at discrediting Trump through false ties to the Russian government.

“We have whistleblowers coming forward now,” Gabbard said. “People who were inside the intelligence community—people who saw what happened—are disgusted. They want justice, just like the American people do.”

Her announcement comes on the heels of her public release of a series of classified memos and internal communications. According to Gabbard, these documents reveal a deliberate and coordinated attempt by top government officials to fabricate connections between Trump’s campaign and Russian operatives—a narrative that fueled the years-long “Russiagate” investigation.

Gabbard stated that all related materials will be turned over to the Department of Justice, signaling what she described as a renewed push for full transparency and legal accountability.

“Everything we’ve released—and everything we continue to uncover—will be submitted to the DOJ,” she said. “This is about exposing the truth.”

“There Must Be Indictments”

Gabbard didn’t mince words when calling for consequences. Labeling the alleged actions against Trump a “treasonous conspiracy,” she argued that those involved—regardless of their rank or political power—must face prosecution.

“There must be indictments. It doesn’t matter who they are—how high up they were,” she stressed. “This was an assault on our democracy. The American people deserve justice.”

While Gabbard stopped short of naming specific individuals, her comments appeared to point toward former President Barack Obama and key members of his administration—frequent targets of Trump’s long-standing claims that the intelligence community was weaponized against him.

Spotlight Returns to Durham Probe

Gabbard’s remarks have reignited interest in Special Counsel John Durham’s investigation, which concluded in 2023 with minimal prosecutions but significant criticism of FBI conduct. Durham’s most notable case resulted in a guilty plea from former FBI attorney Kevin Clinesmith, who admitted to altering an email used to obtain a surveillance warrant on Trump adviser Carter Page.

Although critics of the Durham probe argued it failed to uncover a larger conspiracy, Trump allies viewed it as partial validation of claims that federal agencies were used to undermine his presidency.

A Nation Still Divided

The legacy of the Russiagate investigation continues to polarize the nation. Trump supporters maintain he was the victim of a politically motivated smear campaign, while others insist the probe was a legitimate response to concerns about foreign election interference.

Now, with Gabbard—once a Democratic congresswoman and 2020 presidential candidate—firmly embedded within the Trump administration, the controversy is being revisited with new urgency and a clear mandate for accountability.

Her elevation to Director of National Intelligence under Trump’s second-term administration marked a stunning political transformation, and her current crusade suggests the administration is ready to take the Russiagate narrative beyond rhetoric—and into courtrooms.

As the 2026 midterms loom and more whistleblowers come forward, the battle over the truth behind Russiagate is far from over. And according to Gabbard, the next chapter may be written in indictments.
