Before his passing, Sharon Osbourne made sure to honor her husband Ozzy Osbourne’s final wish.
On Tuesday, July 22, Ozzy’s family announced his heartbreaking death at age 76, surrounded by the love of those closest to him.
Ozzy had been battling Parkinson’s disease since his diagnosis in 2019—a progressive neurological disorder that gradually impairs brain function.
Though the exact cause of his death hasn’t been confirmed, it’s known that Ozzy faced multiple health challenges in his final days.
In a touching farewell, Sharon fulfilled Ozzy’s dream to return to his roots in the United Kingdom for the “Back to the Beginning” benefit concert. There, he reunited with Black Sabbath and helped raise an astonishing $189 million for charity—leaving a powerful legacy of music and generosity.

Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, and Anthrax were just a few of the legendary bands who joined the unforgettable tribute.
“The only place it could happen was Aston — Ozzy’s birthplace and the very spot where Villa’s ground stands,” Sharon Osbourne shared with Music Business Worldwide.
“I wanted to gather all the bands Ozzy ever had a connection with to perform—whether playing Sabbath classics or Ozzy’s iconic solo hits.”
“It turned into a true celebration of his music legacy.”
“All generations who have carried the torch from Sabbath and Ozzy will be there.”
Sharon also told The Sun that Ozzy was “very emotional about this and so happy to be coming back.”
“Parkinson’s is a relentless, progressive disease,” she explained. “It affects different parts of the body—it’s impacted his legs. But his voice? It’s as strong as ever.”
After the performance, Ozzy touched the crowd with heartfelt words: “You have no idea how I feel — thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Following his passing, Ozzy’s family released a statement filled with sorrow:
“It is with more sadness than words can express that we announce our beloved Ozzy Osbourne passed away this morning, surrounded by family and love. We ask for privacy during this difficult time.”
Ozzy is survived by his wife Sharon, children Aimee, Kelly, and Jack, as well as grandchildren, plus Jessica and Louis from his previous marriage to Thelma Riley.
Tributes poured in from every corner, including from Ozzy’s childhood football club, Aston Villa. The club posted on Twitter:
“Aston Villa Football Club is deeply saddened by the loss of world-renowned rockstar and Villan, Ozzy Osbourne. Growing up in Aston, just a stone’s throw from Villa Park, Ozzy always cherished his connection to the club and community.”
“Our thoughts are with Sharon, his family, friends, and millions of fans worldwide during this incredibly difficult time.”
