Huehuetoca, State of Mexico — On Wednesday, November 20, a serious multi-vehicle collision took place on the Mexico-Querétaro Highway at kilometer 059+000, near Huehuetoca. A trailer, unable to brake in time, slammed into several vehicles, ultimately coming to rest blocking all three northbound and southbound lanes, forcing a partial closure of the highway.

What Happened?
The trailer was headed toward Mexico City when it failed to slow down near the Jorobas intersection. The driver lost control and first crashed into a roadside bank before colliding with five cars and a pickup truck.

Contributing Factors
Authorities suspect that wet road conditions from earlier rain played a role in the accident, making the surface slippery. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause.

Injuries and Safety Advice
Paramedics promptly arrived and treated several individuals with minor injuries at the scene. While no serious injuries have been reported so far, medical staff recommended that some victims undergo further evaluation at nearby hospitals.

Motorists are advised to drive cautiously in wet weather and expect delays while cleanup and recovery efforts continue.
