A new poll shows the percentage of Americans who believe Donald Trump’s policies have benefited them — and the findings are surprising

Poll: Most Americans Say Trump’s Policies Haven’t Helped Them — Even Some Republicans Are Losing Faith

A new poll paints a sobering picture for President Donald Trump. Despite a relentless wave of executive orders in his second term, fewer than one in three Americans say his policies have helped them personally — and nearly half believe they’ve done more harm than good.

Trump’s Executive Order Blitz: Nearly 200 Signed in 2025

Since retaking office in January, Trump has wasted no time flexing his executive power. Within hours of his inauguration, he signed 25 executive orders. That number has now soared to nearly 200, according to the Federal Register.

One of his latest orders, signed on July 7, extended reciprocal tariff rates for most countries until August 1 — with one major exception: China. The White House says the move is designed to shield American industries, but critics worry it could backfire economically.

Public Opinion: Policies Backfiring?

A poll released July 17 by the Associated Press and the NORC Center for Public Affairs Research shows a sharp divide. Just 25% of Americans believe Trump’s policies have helped them. Meanwhile, 49% say his decisions have done more harm than good — and the rest are unsure.

This sentiment reflects findings from another recent survey, where 52% of respondents disapproved of Trump’s overall job performance.

Republican Support Wavers Amid Epstein Controversy

Even some Republicans appear to be growing uneasy. A key flashpoint: Trump’s refusal to release what many are calling Jeffrey Epstein’s “client list.”

The FBI has repeatedly stated no such list exists, issuing a statement that reads: “No incriminating client list was found. There is no evidence Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals.” But the public isn’t convinced.

Public Trust Crumbling Over Epstein Files

In fact, a separate poll from The Economist and YouGov found that 67% of Americans believe the government is hiding information about Epstein’s connections — fueling suspicions of a cover-up.

Elon Musk Weighs In: “Obviously a Cover-Up”

Billionaire Elon Musk didn’t hold back on Twitter, calling the situation “a cover-up (obviously).” He also added, “Not a single Epstein client has been prosecuted,” reigniting calls for transparency and accountability.
