Texas Man Sentenced After Slamming Into Border Patrol Agent During Smuggling Attempt
A 26-year-old man from Katy, Texas, has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison following a dangerous confrontation at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint.
According to court documents, Kevin Dominguez drove up to the checkpoint on U.S. Highway 57 on August 1, 2023. A trained Border Patrol canine detected movement in the trunk of his sedan—revealing a hidden passenger.
Instead of complying, Dominguez suddenly reversed his vehicle, striking a Border Patrol agent before speeding away from the scene.
His reckless attempt to evade arrest not only endangered federal officers but also underscored the growing risks faced at the border.
